Just Looking
at Autumn-swathed
hills,
Reds frothing;
Yellows, oranges
throwing flame;
Eyes gaze and gape
and glory
but I will forever
find it
not enough.
I want to
Run and dance and
bask in it,
Shout anthems while I
splash in it,
Drink it by the
cupful and then
laugh it out my nose.
Taste it! Juice runs off my chin!
Ride it
bareback! Breathe it in!
‘Til, full-bellied, I
can grin
that finally,
I know Fall.
Maybe then I’ll be
content
Just Looking.
